This policy describes how Loggerhead Golf Co. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit loggerheadgolf.com, place an order, or book a fitting. We are a golf club builder and fitter located at 323 Eastwood Road, Suite C, Wilmington, NC 28403. Our site and store are intended for customers in the United States, and we ship only within the US.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you place an order, we collect the information needed to build and deliver it: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, the products and custom club specifications you ordered, and a record of your payment (but not your card number, as explained under Payments below).
When you contact us by phone, email, or in person, we collect whatever information you choose to share with us, such as your contact details and the details of your request. If you sign up for our mailing list, we collect your email address to send you news and offers, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails.
When you browse the site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information such as the pages you visit, the links and buttons you click, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location based on your IP address, and how you arrived at our site. The Analytics and Advertising sections below describe this in more detail.
PAYMENTS
Payments on our site are processed by Stripe. When you check out, your card details are collected directly by Stripe on its secure checkout page and are never seen or stored by us. Stripe shares with us your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and confirmation that your payment succeeded so we can fulfill your order. Stripe processes your information under its own privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/privacy.
ANALYTICS AND SESSION RECORDING
We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to help us understand how visitors use our website. PostHog may collect information such as the pages you visit, the links and buttons you click, the type of device and browser you are using, your approximate location based on your IP address, and how you arrived at our site (including any ad-campaign or referral information). If you place an order, we also send our analytics provider a record of the purchase (an order number, the order total, and the number of items) and connect it to your visit, so we can see which pages led to the order. We store that visit identifier alongside the order in our records.
To help us spot and fix problems with the site, PostHog may also record a replay of your visit, similar to a screen recording of your browser session. We configure these recordings to mask the text you type into form fields, so information you enter is hidden rather than recorded. Other content shown on the page, such as the club options you have selected, is visible in the recording. Checkout happens on Stripe's own page, which we do not record.
We also use PostHog to test different versions of our pages and messages. For example, some visitors may see a suggestion to book a fitting at a different time, or with different wording, than others. We use the results to decide which version works best.
Analytics information from your browser is routed through Cloudflare, an infrastructure provider, on its way to PostHog. Cloudflare handles this traffic on our behalf as part of delivering the analytics service, under its agreement with PostHog, and does not receive it for its own separate purposes. Because Cloudflare runs a global network, this routing step may pass through servers in locations outside the United States, even though the analytics data itself is stored in the United States. Session recordings are kept for a limited period, typically a few months, and are then deleted automatically. PostHog's privacy policy is available at https://posthog.com/privacy. If you have any questions about our use of PostHog or other analytics tools, please contact us using the information at the end of this policy.
ADVERTISING
We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. These tools let us understand which ads led visitors to our site and which actions they took, such as viewing a product, adding a build to the cart, booking a fitting, or completing an order. Some of these events are sent from your browser and some are sent from our servers. To do this, Meta receives information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser, and your approximate location based on your IP address. Meta also uses two cookies, named _fbp and _fbc, to recognize your browser across visits. Meta's own script sets those cookies, and we set them ourselves as well, so that our advertising measurement still works when that script is blocked.
When you give us contact details anywhere on this site, whether that is a contact or quote form, a newsletter signup, a request to have a build emailed to you, a booking, or a checkout, we save them in your browser and send scrambled (hashed) versions to Meta along with your later activity, so Meta can match that activity to an ad. Those details can include your email address, phone number, first and last name, and the city, state, ZIP code, and country on your order, together with the order total. Hashing turns each value into a fixed scrambled code before it leaves our servers: Meta compares that code against codes it already holds and cannot read the original value back out of it. We also send a random identifier for your browser, which is not connected to your name outside our own systems. We do not send Meta your street address, your card details, or the text of any message, note, or club description you write to us.
You can manage how Meta uses this information, including your ad preferences, in the settings of your Facebook or Instagram account. BOOKING A FITTING
Booking a fitting, lesson, or repair happens directly on our site, not on a third-party page. The booking form asks for your name, email address, and phone number, and gives you an optional field to describe the clubs you play now and what you would like fixed. We store this information, along with your appointment selection, in our own database and attach it to your order record. We then send your appointment details to Setmore, a third-party scheduling service, so it can put you on the calendar, and we send your payment details to Stripe to charge you; as described under Payments above, Stripe collects your card details directly and we never see or store them. When your appointment is confirmed, we also send our advertising partner Meta scrambled (hashed) versions of your contact details, the same way we do for a completed order, so it can match the booking to an ad; see the Advertising section above for exactly which details that covers and what hashing means. The optional note describing the clubs you play now is never sent to Meta. Because the booking form is on our own page, the analytics and session-recording tools described above can see it, with the same text-masking protections described in that section. Setmore processes the appointment information we send it under its own privacy policy, available at https://www.setmore.com/privacy.
COOKIES AND BROWSER STORAGE
We use a small amount of storage in your browser to make the site work smoothly. For example, we save your in-progress custom club build so it is still there if you leave and come back, and we remember choices you have made, such as closing a suggestion, so we do not show it to you again. The storage we use for builds and cart contents stays in your browser and is not used to identify you. Separately, once you have given us contact details on any form, we save those details in your browser too, and those ones are used to identify you: they are what we send to Meta in scrambled form, as described in the Advertising section above. Our analytics and advertising providers, described above, also use cookies that recognize your device across visits, and we set the two Meta cookies named there ourselves.
Our analytics and advertising providers, described above, also use cookies and similar browser storage to do their work. You can clear or block cookies and site data through your browser settings, though some features of the site, such as saved builds, may stop working if you do.
WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising purposes. Some state privacy laws define "sale" or "targeted advertising" broadly enough to include the ad-measurement tools described in the Advertising section above. If you would rather we not share your activity with those tools, you can block them using your browser settings or a tracking blocker, or contact us using the information at the end of this policy and we will honor the request. We otherwise share your information only with the service providers we use to run our business: Stripe for payment processing, PostHog for analytics, Cloudflare for delivering our website and routing analytics traffic, Meta for advertising measurement, Setmore for appointment booking, Resend for order confirmations and other emails we send you, and the hosting and database providers (including Supabase) that store our website and order records. Each provider receives only the information it needs to do its job.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, property, or safety or those of our customers, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
We keep order records, including your contact and shipping details, for as long as we need them to provide warranty support and to meet our accounting, tax, and legal obligations. Analytics data is retained for a limited period and is not kept longer than we need it; session recordings in particular are deleted automatically after a few months.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will honor these requests except where we are required to keep information for administrative, legal, tax, or security purposes, such as records of completed orders. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws. To make a request, contact us using the information below. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 45 days.
SECURITY
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure.
CHILDREN
Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time as our site and services change. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
